To exempt floor assemblies that are contained within dwelling units or houses with secondary suites from the requirements of Sentence 9.10.9.4.(1), which would otherwise require the assemblies to be fire separations, on the basis that occupants are expected to be familiar with their space and should be able to evacuate relatively quickly.
