Intent 1:
To exempt exterior walls from the requirement to
install a capillary break, where:
- lesser protection will not adversely affect the performance
of building assemblies,
- damage to the building will have limited adverse consequences,
- the walls, and intersecting or supported floors, are
not susceptible to moisture damage, or
- other methods are used to minimize moisture ingress.
