Intent 1:

To limit the probability that emergency response operations will be delayed or ineffective, which could lead to the spread of fire to adjacent buildings or facilities, which could lead to damage to adjacent buildings or facilities.

Intent 2:

To direct Code users to Subsection 3.2.5. of the National Building Code of Canada.
