Intent 1:

To limit the probability that emergency responders, building occupants and other persons concerned will not be apprised of interruptions in the operation of fire protection installations, which could lead to delays or inefficiencies in response to a fire situation, which could lead to:

• delays in the evacuation or movement of persons to a safe place, or
• the spread of fire.

This is to limit the probability of harm to persons, including emergency responders.
