Intent 1:

To limit the probability that deficiencies in certain fire emergency and smoke control systems will go unnoticed, which could lead to such systems not operating as originally intended in a fire situation, which could lead to the buildup of smoke on floor areas or in exit stair shafts, which could lead to:

• delays or inefficiencies in emergency suppression operations, which could lead to the spread of fire, which could lead to damage to the building, and
• damage to the building.
