Intent 1:

To limit the probability of delays in notifying building occupants and the fire department in the event of a fire emergency, which could lead to:

• delays in firefighting operations,
• delays in the safe egress of building occupants, or
• the spread of fire to occupied parts of the building.

This is to limit the probability of harm to persons.
