| Application | Application 1: Solid lumber partitions not
less than 38 mm thick and wood framing in partitions located
in a fire compartment not more than 600
m2 in area, in buildings described
in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A that are required to be of noncombustible construction, and where the floor
area is not sprinklered throughout.
Exceptions:
except as stated in Sentence 3.1.5.13.(2), which applies to partitions containing wood framing installed in certain buildings and locations.
Application 2: This also applies to buildings to
which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9] that are required to be of noncombustible
construction, as stated in Sentence 9.10.6.1.(1).
