Application
Application 1: 
Fixed wired glass assemblies or glass block, installed in conformance with NFPA 80, “Fire Doors and Fire Windows,” used for the protection of openings in fire separations having a fire-resistance rating not more than 1 h.
Exceptions: 
except as stated in Articles 3.1.8.16. and 3.1.8.17. for the separation of exits.
This applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To exempt certain wired glass and glass block assemblies from the application of Sentence 3.1.8.4.(1) if certain conditions are met, on the basis that they provide an acceptable level of protection against the spread of fire.
