Application
Application 1: 
Doors that have a flame-spread rating not more than 200, in buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.

Application 2: 
This also applies to the maximum flame-spread rating of interior wall, ceiling and floor finishes of buildings regulated by the provisions of Subsection 3.2.6., as stated in Sentence 3.1.13.7.(1).
Exceptions: 
except as provided in:
  • Sentence 3.1.13.7.(2), which applies to sprinklered buildings, other than buildings of Group B major occupancy and elevator cars,
  • Sentence 3.1.13.7.(3), which applies to trim and millwork in certain locations, and
  • Sentence 3.1.13.7.(4), which applies to doors in certain locations.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To exempt certain doors from the application of Sentence 3.1.13.2.(1) and allow a higher maximum flame-spread rating on the basis that the higher rating will not significantly contribute to the spread of flame across the door surface.
