Application | Application 1: Minimum fire-resistance rating of
a floor between two superimposed major occupancies in
a portion of a building containing more than one major occupancy. This applies
to buildings to which Part 3 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A for application of Part 3].
Exceptions:
except as exempted in Sentence 3.2.2.8.(1), which applies

Intent | Intent 1: To clarify that the requirements of Subsection 3.2.2.,
pertaining to the minimum fire-resistance rating of floors for each portion
of a building containing a major occupancy, are to be applied to that portion
as if the entire building were of that major occupancy. Intent 2: To override the requirement of Sentence 3.2.2.6.(1) which
states that the entire building must be constructed in accordance with the
most stringent requirements of each of the different major occupancies in
the building. |
