Application 1: 
Calculating the limiting distance, where a building has any storey that is not sprinklered and firefighting facilities cannot reach the building within 10 min of the alarm being received, in buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.
Application 2: 
This also applies to minimum clearances [limiting distances] of tents and air-supported structures to other structures, as stated in Sentence 3.1.6.3.(1).

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability of the spread of fire from the building to an adjacent building during the time required for emergency responders to perform their duties, which could lead to damage to adjacent buildings.
