OP3 |
Objective | OP3 Protection of Adjacent Buildings from Fire |
Attribution | |
Application | Application 1: Calculating the area of an exposing
building face for an interconnected floor space,
in a building that is sprinklered throughout
and contains an interconnected floor space,
in buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A. |

Intent | Intent 1: To supersede the requirements of Sentence 3.2.3.2.(1) and
state a different [less onerous] calculation method for determining the area
of an exposing building face, if certain conditions are met, on the basis
that the conditions provide an equivalent level of protection. These conditions
are to limit the probability that an entire exposing building face will be
involved in a fire, which could lead to the spread of fire from the building
to an adjacent building, which could lead to damage to adjacent buildings.
