Intent | Intent 1: To limit the probability of the spread of fire from the
building to an adjacent building through unprotected openings, which could
lead to damage to adjacent buildings. Intent 2: To limit the probability that closures will have insufficient
fire resistance, which could lead to the spread of fire from the building
to an adjacent building during the time required for emergency responders
to perform their duties, which could lead to damage to adjacent buildings.
