Attribution | |
Application | Application 1: Area of unprotected openings in

distance is not less than 3 m. This
applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt open-air storage garages from the requirements
of Sentences 3.2.3.1.(1) and 3.2.3.7.(1) to (6), which would otherwise limit
the area of unprotected openings, and permit unlimited unprotected openings,
on the basis that the fire load of the contents is relatively low, the space
is well ventilated and the limiting distance is not less than 3 m.
These conditions are to limit the probability of the spread of fire from the
garage to an adjacent building, which could lead to damage to adjacent buildings.
