Application | Application 1: Operation of 2 stage fire alarm systems [that have
multiple zones], as stated in Article 3.2.4.3., and that are permitted
to be zone coded in Sentence 3.2.4.4.(3). This
applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A in which fire alarm systems are installed.
Application 2: This also applies to buildings to
which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9] in which fire alarm systems are installed, as stated in Sentence 9.10.18.6.(1). |

safety and emergency response will be confused concerning the zone in which
an alert signal originated when more than one zone has initiated an alert
signal, which could lead to directing the evacuation of persons into a hazardous
