3.2.5.9.(2) | Application | Intent |
OS1 | OP1 |
Objective | OS1 Fire Safety |
Attribution | |
Application | Application 1: Dry standpipe systems that are not connected to a
water supply. This applies to buildings described
in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A in which standpipe systems are
installed.

Intent | Intent 1: To supersede the requirements of Sentence 3.2.5.9.(1) and
preclude dry standpipes on the basis that water would not be readily available
to fight a fire in a building that has a dry standpipe system not connected
to a water supply. This is to limit the probability that manual firefighting
operations will be delayed, which could lead to the spread of fire to other
parts of the building, which could lead to harm to persons. |
