Intent | Intent 1: To supersede the requirements of the standard referenced
in Sentence 3.2.5.9.(1) and require electrical supervision of valves
controlling water supplies in a standpipe system, to limit the probability
that the closing of valves that are intended to be normally open, or the opening
of valves that are intended to be normally closed, will go unnoticed, which
could lead to an inadequate water supply to the standpipe system in a fire
situation, which could lead to the fire not being suppressed or controlled,
which could lead to the spread of fire to other parts of the building, which
could lead to harm to persons. |
