Application | Application 1: Movable partitions used
to separate a public corridor from an adjacent business and personal services occupancy or a mercantile occupancy, where the partitions are
not located in the only means of egress.
This applies to buildings described
in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.
Application 2: This also applies to tents and air-supported
structures, as stated in Sentences 3.1.6.1.(1) and 9.10.1.2.(1).

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt movable partitions in certain locations from the
application of Sentences 3.3.1.12.(1), 3.3.1.11.(1) and (2), which
would otherwise require the doors to swing on a vertical axis in the direction
of travel, on the basis that there is an alternative means of egress available
that does not pass through the movable panels. |
