Application | Application 1: Dimensional, guard and
handrail requirements for ramps and stairways serving service
rooms and service spaces and in industrial
occupancies, intended only for occasional use for servicing equipment
and machinery. This applies to buildings described
in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.
Application 2: This also applies to tents and air-supported
structures, as stated in Sentences 3.1.6.1.(1) and 9.10.1.2.(1).

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt ramps and stairways used to service equipment
and machinery from the application of Sentence 3.3.1.14.(1) on the basis
that they are infrequently used and the persons using them should be fully
capable of negotiating an unusual arrangement. |
