Intent | Intent 1: To exempt sliding doors serving impeded egress zones or
Group B, Division 1 occupancies from the requirements of Sentence 3.3.1.12.(1) and Sentence 3.4.6.13.(1), which would otherwise require doors to open in the direction
of exit travel and to swing on their vertical axis, on the basis that the
sliding doors are required to meet the requirements of Article 3.3.1.13. and
release locally or remotely by security personnel. Intent 2: To expand the application of Sentences 3.3.1.13.(6) to (9).
