Intent
Intent 1:
To exempt sliding doors serving impeded egress zones or Group B, Division 1 occupancies from the requirements of Sentence 3.3.1.12.(1) and Sentence 3.4.6.13.(1), which would otherwise require doors to open in the direction of exit travel and to swing on their vertical axis, on the basis that the sliding doors are required to meet the requirements of Article 3.3.1.13. and release locally or remotely by security personnel.
Intent 2:
To expand the application of Sentences 3.3.1.13.(6) to (9).
