Application 1: 
Ventilation systems required by Sentence 3.6.2.7.(6) serving electrical equipment vaults [referred to in Sentence 3.6.2.7.(1)] required by:
  • provincial, territorial, or municipal regulations, or
  • CSA C22.1, “Canadian Electrical Code, Part I,” in the absence of regulations referred to in Clause 3.6.2.7.(1)(a).
This applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.
Application 2: 
This also applies to transformer vaults in buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9], as stated in Sentence 9.10.1.2.(1).

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that products of combustion generated by a fire in a vault will migrate to other parts of the building, which could lead to harm to persons in other parts of the building.
