Intent | Intent 1: To exempt primary schools and day-care centres from the
requirements of Sentence 3.7.2.2.(6), which would otherwise use a different
method for determining the minimum number of water closets, on the basis that
such occupancies have different needs. Intent 2: To state the method for calculating the number of water
closets required in an occupancy that is used for a primary school or a day-care
centre. This is to limit the probability of an insufficient
number of water closets, which could lead to the inability of persons to use
water closets in a timely manner, which could lead to unsanitary conditions,
which could lead to harm to persons.
