Intent
Intent 1:
To exempt doorways from the minimum width requirements stated in Sentence 3.8.1.3.(1) and permit a lesser minimum width, on the basis that doorways comprise a small portion of a pathway.
This is to limit the probability that a person using a manual wheelchair or other manual mobility assistance device will not be able to circulate within a building without the assistance of another person.
