Application
Application 1: 
Minor combustible components used in the construction of buildings or parts of buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A that are required to be of noncombustible construction.
Application 2: 
This also applies to buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9] that are required to be of noncombustible construction, as stated in Sentence 9.10.6.1.(1).

Intent
Intent 1: 
To exempt certain combustible materials from the application of Sentence 3.1.5.1.(1) on the basis that they are deemed to insignificantly contribute to fire growth and spread.
Intent 2: 
To direct Code users to Sentence 3.1.9.1.(1) and Article 3.1.11.7. for fire stop materials referred to in Clause 3.1.5.2.(1)(c).
Intent 3: 
To exempt tubing for pneumatic controls as stated in Clause 3.1.5.2.(1)(d) from the application of Sentence 3.1.5.16.(1), which applies to combustibility of tubing.
