Application | Application 1: Decorative wood cladding used on the exterior marquee
fascias of storeys having direct access to a street or access route, on buildings described
in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A that are required to be of noncombustible construction, where the cladding is fire-retardant-treated wood that has been conditioned
in conformance with ASTM D 2898, “Accelerated Weathering of Fire-Retardant-Treated
Wood for Fire Testing,” before being tested in accordance with CAN/ULC-S102, “Test
for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials and Assemblies.”
Application 2: This also applies to buildings to
which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9] that are required to be of noncombustible
construction, as stated in Sentence 9.10.6.1.(1).

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt certain combustible materials from the application

that the materials are deemed to insignificantly contribute to the growth
