Application 1: 
Flammability of fabrics used as part of an awning, canopy or marquee that is located within or attached to a building of any type of construction.
This applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that certain fabrics having an inappropriately high flame-spread property will be used, which could lead to the spread of fire across the exposed surfaces of the fabric and to other parts of the building [interior or exterior], which could lead to:
  • harm to persons, and
  • delays in the evacuation or movement of persons to a safe place, which could lead to harm to persons.
