This applies to buildings described
in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.
Exceptions:
except as required in Sentence 3.2.3.7.(8), which applies
to the sequence of application of Article 3.2.3.12. with respect
to Sentences 3.2.3.7.(1) to (6).

Intent | Intent 1: To supersede the requirements of Sentence 3.2.3.1.(1) and
permit an increase [doubling] in the area of unprotected openings, if certain
conditions are met [openings glazed with certain types of assemblies].
This [the conditions] is to limit the probability of the spread
of fire from the subject building to an adjacent building, which could lead
to damage to the adjacent building.
Intent 2: To direct Code users to Article 3.1.8.14. and D-2.3.14. in Appendix D for requirements
pertaining to glass block and wired glass assemblies. |
