To limit the probability of delays in the transfer to emergency power in the event of a failure of the normal power source to fire alarm systems in a fire situation, which could lead to the fire alarm system not operating properly, which could lead to emergency responders not being promptly notified of the fire, which could lead to delays or ineffectiveness in carrying out fire emergency response operations, which could lead to the spread of fire, which could lead to damage to the building or facility.
