Separation of public corridors from the remainder of the building by a fire separation, in buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To limit the probability that fire will spread into a public corridor, or from a public corridor into a suite, which could lead to damage to the building.
Intent 2: 
To limit the probability that fire will spread into a public corridor, which could lead to fire emergency response operations being delayed or ineffective, which could lead to the further spread of fire, which could lead to damage to the building.
Intent 3: 
To clarify that other provisions in Part 3 take precedence over the requirements of Sentence 3.3.1.4.(1).
