Application | Application 1: Exits, where:
This applies to exit facilities
serving floor areas that are intended for occupancies, including mezzanines as
stated in Sentence 3.4.2.2.(1), in buildings described
in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.
Application 2: This also applies to tents and air-supported
structures, as stated in Sentences 3.1.6.1.(1) and 9.10.1.2.(1).

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt exits that are in different fire compartments,
which are separated from one another by a fire separation, from the distance
limits referred to in Clauses 3.4.2.3.(1)(a) and (b), on the basis that occupants
will be able to leave the first fire compartment to go to an alternative exit
in a fire compartment not exposed to untenable conditions. |
