Intent
Intent 1:
To supersede the requirements of Sentence 3.6.2.1.(1), which would otherwise permit solid-fuel-fired appliances under certain conditions, and to impose additional requirements on the installation of solid-fuel-fired appliances in certain locations, on the basis that vapours or gases in such locations could be ignited by the appliance [ignition source], which could lead to a fire or explosion, which could lead to harm to persons.
Intent 2:
To limit the probability that a fire will spread from a service room containing a solid-fuel-fired appliance to other parts of the building, which could lead to harm to persons in the other parts of the building.
