Application
Application 1: 
Single water closets serving both sexes, where the occupant load is not more than 10, in occupancies referred to in:
  • Sentence 3.7.2.2.(6),
  • Sentence 3.7.2.2.(10),
  • Sentence 3.7.2.2.(12),
  • Sentence 3.7.2.2.(14), and
  • Sentence 3.7.2.2.(16).
This applies to all buildings, as stated in Sentence 7.1.3.1.(1).
Exceptions: 
except as exempted in Sentence 7.1.3.2.(1), which applies to dwelling units.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To supersede the requirements of Sentence 3.7.2.2.(1), which would otherwise require separate water closets for each sex, and permit both sexes to be served by a single water closet, on the basis that the occupant load is limited to a small number.
