Intent | Intent 1: To supersede the requirements of Sentence 3.4.3.2.(1) and
allow a relaxation in the width of means of egress, on the basis that there
is a lower exposure risk to occupants in an exterior environment.
This is to limit the probability that means of egress will be of
insufficient width to permit efficient egress in an emergency situation, which
could lead to delays in the evacuation or movement of persons to a safe place,
which could lead to harm to persons.
