Intent
Intent 1:
To limit the probability that improper methods will be used to determine the airborne sound transmission characteristics of assemblies and components, which could lead to the misrepresentation of sound transmission class ratings, which could lead to occupants being exposed to excessive levels of airborne noise from other parts of the building, which could lead to negative effects on the psychological well-being of persons.
