Application
Application 1:
Distribution of the specified snow load stated in Sentence 4.1.6.2.(1) calculated using Ca = 1.0, on flat and shed roofs, gable roofs of 15° slope or less, and arched or curved roofs.
This applies to buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A and to buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9] that are required to be designed in accordance with the requirements of Part 4.

Intent
Intent 1:
To limit the probability that the distribution of snow load on flat roofs or nearly flat shed or gable roofs, and on arched or curved roofs, which is used for the design of structural elements supporting these types of roofs, will not take into account the expected non-uniform distribution of snow accumulation caused by wind effects and snow removal, which could lead to high forces in critical components of these elements, which could lead to structural failure, which could lead to harm to persons.
