Application
Application 1: 
Fuel-fired heating appliances, in buildings described in Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A.
Application 2: 
This also applies to buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9], with respect to:
  • heating systems, including requirements for combustion air, and air-conditioning systems other than those serving individual dwelling units, as stated in Sentence 9.33.1.1.(2), and
  • minimum clearance of fuel-fired appliances installed on roofs, from property lines or adjacent walls of the same building, as stated in Sentence 9.10.1.2.(9).
Exceptions: 
except for appliances installed in dwelling units.

Intent
Intent 1: 
To direct Code users to Section 3.6., which exempts fuel-fired appliances in dwelling units from being enclosed in a fire-separated service room.
