Intent | Intent 1: To limit the probability that an inadequate allowance for
the expansion and contraction of pipes due to temperature changes under service
conditions will lead to stress in pipes, which could lead to pipe or equipment
failure, which could lead to the entry of refrigerant gases into occupied
space, which could lead to negative effects on the air quality of indoor spaces.
This is to limit the probability of harm to persons.
