Application
Application 1: 
Glass in entrance doors to dwelling units and public areas, in buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9], where the glass area exceeds 0.5 m2 and extends to less than 900 mm from the bottom of the door.
Exceptions: 
except as stated in:
  • Sentence 9.6.6.2.(2), which applies to glass in storm doors and glass in sliding doors within or at entrances to dwelling units and in public areas, and
  • Sentence 9.7.5.2.(1), which applies to sliding glass partitions that separate a public corridor from an adjacent occupancy, are open during normal working hours and are suitably marked.
Application 2: 
This also applies in buildings to which Part 3 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.2.(1) of Division A for application of Part 3], with respect to glass in doors and in sidelights that could be mistaken for doors, within or at the entrance to dwelling units and in public areas, as stated in Sentence 3.3.1.19.(5).

To expand the application of Sentence 9.6.6.2.(2) to include glass in doors other than storm or sliding doors.
