Application 1: 
Removal-resistant hinges and hinge pins for swinging doors, in buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9]:
Exceptions: 
except:
  • for storm or screen doors [see Sentence 9.6.8.7.(1)], and
  • as stated in Sentence 9.6.8.10.(1), which applies to doors constructed to a security level of at least Grade 10 in accordance with the Annex to ASTM F 476.

To limit the probability of the removal of hinge pins from the exterior when doors are closed, which could lead to unwanted entry, which could lead to harm to persons.
