9.9.8.1.(1)

Application
Application 1: 
Meaning of travel distance for the purposes of Subsection 9.9.8., in buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].
Application 2: 
This also applies to certain mezzanines, as stated in Sentence 9.9.8.6.(1).
Exceptions: 
except as stated in:
  • Sentence 9.9.8.1.(2), which applies to rooms or suites that are separated from the remainder of the floor area they serve by fire separations that have a fire-resistance rating of at least 45 min or, in sprinklered buildings, by fire separations that are not required to have a fire-resistance rating, and
  • Sentence 9.9.8.1.(3), which applies to public corridors that conform to Subclauses 3.4.2.5.(1)(d)(i) to (d)(iv), where
    • the ceiling height is not less than 4 m above all floor surfaces
    • the building is sprinklered throughout, and
    • not more than one half of the required egress doorways from a room or suite open into the public corridor if the room or suite is required to have more than one egress doorway.
