Application | Application 1: Exits from each storey in buildings of 1 and 2 storeys in building height, where:
This applies in buildings to
which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9].
Application 2: This also applies to certain mezzanines,
as stated in Sentence 9.9.8.6.(1).
Exceptions:
except as stated in Subsection 9.9.9., which applies
to egress from dwelling units.

Intent | Intent 1: To supersede the requirements of Sentence (1), which would
otherwise require at least 2 egress routes or exits, and permit a single exit,
on the basis that the single exit is limited to low buildings having a relatively
low occupant load and where floor areas and travel distances are limited.
