Intent
Intent 1:
To limit the probability that certain service equipment penetrating wall assemblies that also form a fire separation will contribute to the spread of fire through the assemblies, which could lead to a loss of integrity of the fire separation, which could lead to the spread of fire and smoke from one fire compartment to another, which could lead to harm to persons in the other compartment.
