Application | Application 1: Fire-resistance rating of

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt exterior passageways serving a single dwelling
unit from the requirements of Sentence 9.10.8.8.(1), which would otherwise
require the passageway floors to have a minimum fire-resistance rating, on
the basis that occupant load is low, travel distances from the space are short,
and evacuation from the dwelling unit is expected to be relatively quick.
