Application | Application 1: Electrical wires or cables, single or grouped, with combustible insulation or jacketing that is not totally
enclosed in raceways of noncombustible material,
penetrating an assembly required to have a fire-resistance
rating, where such wiring or cables have an overall diameter of not
more than 25 mm. This applies to buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt certain service equipment from the requirements
of Sentence 9.10.9.6.(2) if certain conditions are met, on the basis
that the equipment is deemed to not contribute significantly to the growth
and spread of fire. |
