Application | Application 1: Combustible drain, waste
and vent piping located on one side of a horizontal fire
separation. This applies to buildings to
which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9] that contain 2 dwelling units only.
Application 2: This also applies to combustible piping
for central vacuum systems, as stated in Sentence 9.10.9.6.(9).

Intent | Intent 1: To exempt certain combustible piping from the requirements
of Sentence 9.10.9.7.(1) if certain conditions are met, on the basis
that the imposed conditions limit the probability of the spread of fire and
