Application | Application 1: Fire separations between
a repair garage and ancillary spaces directly
serving the repair garage, including waiting
rooms, reception rooms, tool and parts storage areas and supervisory office
space, where the ancillary spaces are separated from other occupancies as
required in Sentence 9.10.9.17.(1). This applies
to buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9].

Intent | Intent 1: To clarify that ancillary spaces directly serving a repair
garage may be considered as part of the repair garage, and not as another
occupancy, for the purpose of determining the need for a fire separation as
stated in Sentence 9.10.9.17.(1). Intent 2: To exempt ancillary spaces directly serving a repair garage
from the requirement for a fire separation, as stated in Sentence 9.10.9.17.(1),
between such spaces and a repair garage. |
