which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application
of Part 9].

Intent | Intent 1: To supersede the requirements of Sentence 9.10.13.1.(1),
which would otherwise require the frames to be tested and rated, if certain
conditions are met [i.e. wood frames have a minimum thickness], on the basis
that the frames will provide an inherent and sufficient degree of resistance
to the spread of fire. |
