Intent
Intent 1:
To supersede the requirements of Sentences 9.10.3.1.(1) and 9.13.1.1.(1), which would otherwise require the glass block to be tested and to meet certain minimum fire-protection ratings in accordance with certain standards, on the basis that the glass block [which is otherwise required to be installed in conformance with Section 9.20.] provides an acceptable level of protection against the spread of fire, in situations where the fire separation is required to have a fire-resistance rating of not more than 1 h.
