Intent
Intent 1:
To exempt wall and ceiling surfaces of corridors and walkways within dwelling units from the requirement in the latter part of Sentence 9.10.21.6.(1) for a certain maximum flame-spread rating, on the basis that the dwelling units are equipped with smoke alarms and have a small occupant load, which should enable persons to quickly escape in the early stages of a fire.
