Application 1: 
Sloping of floors supported on ground or on granular fill which do not provide structural support for the superstructure, in buildings to which Part 9 applies [see Sentence 1.3.3.3.(1) of Division A for application of Part 9], where the floor:
  • is a basement floor of a dwelling unit and drainage by gravity to a sewer, ditch or drywell is possible, or
  • is in a garbage room, incinerator room or boiler room that serves more than one dwelling unit.

To limit the probability of ponding of water on floors, which could lead to persons slipping on wet interior walking surfaces, which could lead to harm to persons.
